The Toledo Clinic has been notified of a phone scam where telephone callers ask patients for their social security number to complete an order by their primary care physician for durable medical equipment. You should never give out personal information to callers claiming to be from The Toledo Clinic. Instead call your physician’s office directly to inquire if they need any information from you. Ohioans who have been affected by this Medicare scam should contact the Ohio Senior Medicare Patrol at 800-293-4767 or go to proseniors.org to report the scam and get help obtaining a new Medicare number and card.
