Learn About Our New Facility

In late December 2020, The Toledo Clinic broke ground on a new medical building at Side Cut Crossings to transform cancer care in Northwest Ohio. The Toledo Clinic Cancer Center building is expected to include 15 exam rooms, 24 chemotherapy chairs, radiation oncology laboratory, and state-of-the-art imaging modalities which will allow more local patients the opportunity to receive dedicated cancer care on a campus uniquely designed around the patient.

Our Vital Partnerships

The Toledo Clinic Cancer Centers is dedicated to defining, delivering and coordinating standards for evidence-based, value-driven cancer care across Northern Ohio and Southern Michigan. This commitment is evident in the constant partnerships and enhancements of services, programs, outreach and new initiatives.

The Toledo Clinic and The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute have come together to collaborate for cancer treatment and research in Lucas County and Northwest Ohio. As a National Cancer Institute designated comprehensive cancer center, Karmanos’ mission is to lead the way in transformative cancer care, research and education.

“This partnership represents a bold and ambitious collaboration for cancer treatment and research in Lucas County and Northwest Ohio,” said Justin Klamerus, M.D., M.M.M., President of the Karmanos Cancer Hospital & Network. “Our colleagues at The Toledo Clinic share a common vision with the entire team at Karmanos: use the very latest in treatment modalities combined with access to ‘bench-to-bedside’ clinical trials and precision medicine to achieve the goal of eradication of cancer.”

Entering this new partnership with The Toledo Clinic expands the reach of Karmanos’ life-saving treatments in Ohio by offering tomorrow’s standard of care, today. Karmanos, with one of the region’s largest phase I clinical trials programs and a top bone marrow transplant program, will improve outcomes for patients afflicted with cancer in the Lucas county region.

“Creating a state-of-the-art health care campus will enable us to provide outstanding patient-centered care and deliver new life-changing therapies and treatments, enhancing access to a robust cancer services, close to home; including telemedicine services. Together, our joint teams will advance the fight against cancer,” Dr. Klamerus said.

Additionally, The Toledo Clinic and The Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center at The University of Toledo Medical Center have come together to increase access to cancer care in Northwest Ohio through academics and recruitment. And, The Toledo Clinic and The Maurer Family Cancer Care Center at Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green have come together to expand community care outreach.
